3J COMMUNICATIONS’ NEW SKYPROTM DUAL-FUNCTION EMBEDDED PHONE MAKES SKYPE CALLS WITHOUT A PC TURNED ON


December 20, 2007 – GILBERT, AZ3J Communications, Inc., one of the world’s largest Skype and VoIP phone manufacturers, today announced the availability of the new SkyProTM Embedded Skype phone with DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications), that allows users to make regular landline PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) calls as well as Skype calls without the need to turn on their PC.

“Our new 3J SkyPro is an extremely versatile dual function phone that not only makes crystal clear regular landline calls, using DECT technology, it provides Skype calls worldwide, with its embedded Skype software,” noted Larry LaCross, 3J VP Sales and Marketing. 

The 3J SkyProTM includes key Skype features such as Voicemail, Call Forwarding and SkypeIn/SkypeOut services.  With its built-in speakerphone and clear digital communications up to 300 meters in an open area, the SkyProTM makes using Skype as convenient as using any phone on the market today. 

The user can view their Skype contact’s status and profile, and can add or search their Skype friends on the unit’s bright 1.5” color handset screen.  There are even separate call lists for both PSTN and Skype Calls.  For multiple users, the base can be registered for up to 4 handsets so that the unit can be used to make conference and local intercom calls, which can be done between two handsets, even while a third handset is maintaining a PSTN call.
